Test drives: 2013 Dodge Dart and Ford Escape

CBS Moneywatch -- (MoneyWatch) The weather was beautiful as I headed north from New York City and a chance to test drive two of the most interesting new models just going on sale: The 2013 Dodge Dart and Ford Escape.

The Dart with the turbo and a manual transmission sounds like a real winner, especially if it HANDLES like an Alfa Romeo.

Prediction:
The Escape SE with the 1.6 liter Ecoboost will sell in BIG numbers, too much going for it. The new Dart faces a long uphill battle, consumers are not that sold on smaller Chrysler vehicles.

I saw a Dodge Dart with Michigan 'M' plates in Amarillo, Texas last month. I didn't even know that they were using the Dart name again!
